BCCD has managed a no-till equipment rental program for over 40 years. Since that first no-till corn planter in 1984, the program has expanded to currently include no-till drills of various configurations, 4-row and 6-row no-till corn planters, and lime spreaders.

Here you can find information about nutrient management and manure management regulations and planning, no-till and cover crop planting assistance, CAFO's and CAO's, the Farmland Preservation Program, and Conservation Planning.
The Erosion and Sedimentation Control Technician reviews plans, conducts inspections, responds to complaints and works with the Department of Environmental Protection to help the regulated community meet their obligations to clean water in our streams.
The Dirt, Gravel, and Low-Volume Road Program provides technical and financial assistance to municipalities and other owners of public roads to implement best practices targeted at reducing pollution, primarily sediment, to road-adjacent waterways

Each year, Bedford County Envirothons are offered for students in elementary, junior high and senior high. Educational programs for classrooms, field day events on farms, and more, involve the entire staff in public education.
Conservation District watershed management staff work with agency partners and non-profits and others to monitor stream health, to implement projects that enhance in-stream habitat and stabilize eroding streambanks, and to improve riparian zone function.
